Potty Problems

I think that Snoop might have a problem with the whole concept of controlling himself outside of the crate. He goes to the door now but sometimes if we don't follow right after him or get there a minute after he gets there then he goes and tee tee's on the floor. Is this my fault?? And sometimes he'll come in from playing outside and use the restroom in the house. I pretty sure he knows by now not to do that but I don't understand why he does it. I mean I know he's still a puppy but my friends have a boxer and their's never had this much problem. HELP!!!!!

Dont worry

You need to be "johnny-on-the-spot" on the door issue. That is a good sign that Snoop is going to the door at all. He seems to know that he is suppose to go outside. That is a positive.

As far as teeing in the house after playing... I remember Mia doing that a few times. You just need to say "no" while he is doing it and take him back outside.

I am sure a moderator will get back with you with a better answer, but I thought I would help out.

He will learn just keep on him, it is just a matter of being consistent and of repetition. Good luck, I am also training my little man, Blaze, he was born 8/31. We have our accidents also!

I just posted about this very same issue a few days ago. Creed is 17 weeks old now and he would have accidents. I tried to be vigilant about the door or any sign that he had to potty, it didn't work all the time. Most of the time I would catch him mid way through. But there is hope! Creed is 4 days with no accidents! What I did (from advice of the bw members) was when he went outside and did his business, the minute he came back in I gave him a treat. It took him about 30 seconds to figure out what to do. He's very food motivated, so maybe that will help? But there is hope, trust me....
