Potty Issue

Lucy is my just about 4 month old female that I have had for 3 weeks. We are housebreaking and she is not doing all that bad...She has her spots to poop in the yard and unbelievably she only goes around the perimeter, which is cool as my 3 yr old granddaughter plays out there. She will pee out front on the lawn.
Sunday we took her to a friends house who has a few acres and a 10 month old lab. We had her out for hours and she would not go to the bathroom, we were there for about 4 hours, it was like dog heaven, nothing but grass
When we got home she beelined it for the yard so she go go potty and I thought uh oh this could be a problem... My idea was maybe next time we go somewhere like that to take some poopie with us so we can put it outside so she knows it's ok to go?????
She also let me in on a secret I now know that she can hold it pretty good.

It sounds like she is doing great! She is young & it just takes time to learn all the ropes.

My Blizzy would ONLY potty at our house in the backyard..several times we took her with us out and about, I'd try to get her to potty but she refused!

The second we got home I figured she pee right there but she still would hold it until she was in "the right" area to go

It was good and bad..since when she was kenneled when we'd go away, she'd not potty when they took her out..she would hold it and hold it until she ended up having an accident IN the kennel!! uggh.
