post neuter questions (a little long)

Hello all,

I have a couple questions regarding Cassius who was neutered on Wednesday, and I am looking for any advice/suggestions/opinions!

As mentioned, Cassius was neutered on Wednesday. He did not eat/drink/pee/poop the entire time on Wednesday (we brought him home at 4:00pm); however, he was almost back to his old self on Thursday, except for a couple differences.

1) There has been an increase in urination. In fact, I took him out 3 times last night (he is 6 months old and he has slept through the night for 2 months now). How long will this continue? Has anyone else experienced this?

2) There has been a HUGE increase in farting :p My best guess is this is from the anaesthetic by decreasing his GI motility, and as it returns to normal it starts with the farts and then will decrease. Any thoughts?

Re# post neuter questions

we had Rocco "done" 3 weeks ago he was well grumpy for 2-3 days. did not want drink either. the vet gave us some wet food for 3 days so he was getting fluids that way. he keeps opening up his wound so it's still lead walks for him. His scrotem swelled up so the vet give him some anti-inflamatories and that seems to be working (and the vet said to make sure he didn't get excited or "wriggle around" Yeah Right!) Any jumping/straining is bad, he keeps opening wound every day. Been back so many times for Post-Op checks the vet said he'll name a chair after Rocco!

Our vet said the same thing! However they had no suggestions exactly on how to keep him being excited (except crating for 8 hours a day - as if)!!! Good luck to you as well, and hope that Rocco doesn't have a chair dedicated to him!!! :p
