post hip surgery

My friend's dog, Sierra, is going in for TPO next week to treat hip dysplasia. 4weeks later, Sierra goes back in to have the same surgery on the other hip. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend any products that they found helpful for recovery. Will she need her food and water bowls raised? Are ramps helpful? What about the lift harness (instead of a towel to hoist her hind end while walking)? This poor dog is only 10mos old--she is not even done being a puppy. Thanks for your suggestions.

Sweet puppy....I know how hard it is to put these dogs through such invasive surgery but Sierra will probably have a better prognosis just because she is so young. After they get to a certain age it is more difficult. Also arthritis sets in and the earlier it's done, the less of that forms.
