Possible Seizure

I'm looking for some guidance -- my boxer, Woodbine, is 8-1/2 years old. He appears to be in great health. He walks 2 miles a day, eats and drinks well and is very playful and affectionate. I have noticed the past month or so that he doesn't want to jump up on my bed. He can jump up but not all the time. He will stand by the side of the bed and put his paw up -- this is my clue to hoist him up. Anyway, last night he was sleeping on the floor. Sometime in the middle of the night I heard him thrashing around. Then he bagan to pant very heavily. He walked around the bed and fell over -- I was terrified. Within minutes he seemed fine. I realize that he is getting older and slowing down but could there be something else going on? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, there could be many things going on there - and you need to consult a vet to determine exactly what. The possibilities are many, some of them serious.

You should really see a vet about this, as even if you can determine that it is a siezure the possible causes are many. Some things to look for in the case of siezures however, are twitching or snapping of the mouth, elimination of stool and/or urine, ect.
