Thank you so much for your support. We miss him so much and are working our way through the reality that Porter was at his "prime" at 10 and had beaten the odds with cancer and was taken by such a tragic incident as bloat. We are still shaking our heads.
There is comfort that he was having some of the best days of his life, that he was in his most loved place on earth when it all happened but we want Porter back in our lives doing those silly things that Mr. Porter and Miss Scota did best with each other!
Miss Scooter Muffins (that is Scota's nickname) is at such a loss. My children are asking where "Po-Po" is. One thing that brings a smile to my face that is these "clowns" bring out the humor in all of us. My children (8 and 3) walk daily with me and Porter and Scota and we had some of the biggest belly laughs from these two. Of course we had to put our own spin in the silliness. One little story from the last week of Porter's life: we were on a trail and a chickadee swooped across the path. We started making everyone's names with a form of "chickadee" ... "Chickoter, Chickota" and kept calling them that and watched as they kept turning to us with their goofy faces. Yesterday we took a new trail for the first time and my son immediately called out "Chickorter" and we could see him as he would run up ahead of us and then peek around the corner and coming flying back down the path like a bird.
We miss you dear Porter.
Lissa
