my poor baby girl was hit by a car tonight on our walk. She was playing on the grass and suddenly she just ran out onto the road in front of a car that was fortunately not going very fast.

She is ok considering, her back paw is in a mess but nothing seems broken. will be going to vets first thing.

I feel so bad as she has never run out on any road before, it is a very quiet area but i should have had her on her lead. Needless to say i will never make that mistake again.

hope she will be ok

thanks everyone, for your words of comfort. I think she will be alright, she's cuddling up on the sofa with me. They are so brave and stoic, she only let out a few wee yelps after the accident. And me, the nurse, was more upset than her!
will keep you posted on her progress.

That happened to both of my babies in December. Unfortunatly one didn't make it. I am so thankful that yours came thru with just a few scratches. KEEP A VERY CLOSE EYE ON HER. They can go into shock.

I'm so sorry

I'm so sorry you went thru that. Be very glad it's just a paw and give her lots of kisses and hugs. I think some ice cream is in order, too. :)

My husband used to think I was so paranoid because he would play with Dillon out in front when we lived in our condo. We were in an interior street that went in a circle, so you couldn't go that fast, but people hauled a-- around there. I was always so worried he would dart out even though he knew where he was supposed to be.

It could have happened to any of us. We're here for you if you need to talk.

Give your baby big sloppy kisses from Dillon!
