Pooping!

Okay, well when I let my 9 week old out, she does her routine and pees and poops. BUT... a few minutes later, after she come in, she will poop again by the door. I have never had a dog that goes THIS much. I have tried putting newspaper there but then she will go a few inches off of the paper. HELP!

Jake is hilarious. When he poops he will sniff himself while still going, that parts gross. Whats so funny is that while he's doing this he is turning in circles. We have to stay out longer with him too, we have just switched his food because he's been having a hard time going. Poor puppy. But me and my dh crack up at the site of him spinning and sniffing and pooping.

My boxers do the same thing they walk in circles when they pooh. My 10 week old boxer does the same thing right now. It is unfortunately a part of their training process. I would say to either keep the pup out longer or take the pup out more frequently. In my opinon I wouldn't start the paper thing because that is one more thing that you will have to untrain eventually.

We call Boxlee, Poopy Jamoopy! He always poops twice. Everytime. We just leave him out longer, even though he wants to come in right away. If we wait long enough he'll turn around and go back for a second round!

SOooooooooo happy to read this thread!
Being new Boxer parents, taking Snoop out and having him do 3 or 4 piles was driving us crazy! Our last dog would do one pile and that would be that! Couldn't believe how much poop comes out of this little animal. We thought there was something wrong with him, but his stools look normal.
Another thing, sometimes he goes out and just poops! Not even peeing! Other times he just pees!
Reading this thread makes Snoop sound "normal," and maybe we aren't crazy!

always more than once

All three of our boxers go more than once when we put them out. Our middle "child" Piper always runs out, does her business then runs back to the patio door and waits. She thinks it's a race to see who gets done first. If we don't let her in she tips her head, raises an eyebrow and then runs back into the yard and faces the door as if she's making sure we're watching..poos again and then runs up and jumps (maybe I should say climbs) up the patio door as if she's saying "I did it twice Mom, LET ME IN.." ..gotta love them!

Cosworth would also "pre-poop" or "pop the cork" several minutes before the main event. It took me a little while to figure this out early on in potty training and we had some similiar accidents.

Bugzy has always done this same thing. He always pooped twice every morning until we switched his food to California natural. Now he goes like twice the whole day.

Lily does exactly the same as JakeTheSnake's boxer. She does like 10 360's while shes going and when she spots some on the ground shes just done its 'sniff sniff sniff', then she keeps turning .

Beau is 13 months and will still do this sometimes. I'll keep him out for a while and he'll go outside, but he'll come back inside and go again about 20 minutes later. I just stocked up on carpet cleaner and air freshener.
