My 3 year old male does something really gross. When he is asleep and dreaming ( I can tell by the movement of his whole body like he is running a marathon in his sleep ) he lets out a little drop of liquid that smells a bit like fishy poop. He does not eat table food and he is allergic to alot of things and takes shots for his allergies. Is this normal? Or maybe just something not to worry about?

Something in his dream probably got him excited or scared and he expressed his anal glands. Myself as a dog groomer, have seen many dogs get scared or nervous and express their glands. You may want to take him to the vet to make sure his anal glands are not to full and have them manually expressed. I personally wouldn't worry too much, but it would still be wise to have him checked out back there! :)

Can I clean his glands myself? And if so how?

This smell is the worst, Elvis had the same problem not so long ago, we thought he was bleeding from his butt. The vet cleaned it out for us with some cotton wool, but I dont think i could do it myself!
