Pooch Playground In Gahanna Ohio Now opened!!

Hi, Just wandering if anyone has been to the new dog park in Gahanna that just opened??It is a 2.3 acre dog park that looks nice but for now only thing they have is a fence, they are working on getting agility equipment a dog wash center and several other things when they get enough $$.... You can view their site at www.poochplayground.com... Was just wondering if anyone plans on going or has been... I was thinking about taking my pups there to check it out today instead of the westerville bark park since it looks like we can't meet up with other BW boxers :((

Sounds like we might have to check that out. It would be an even farther drive than the Westerville park, but aren't our babies worth it.

Cami, No We went to the westerville park last night where there was a big dog fight with a boxer involved,a lab kept starting fights because it kept humping all the dogs,I pulled it off my dogs several times and told the owner to control her dog eventually it did it to a boxer(I believe) and it wasn't having it so a fight broke out with a few other dogs getting into the mix(some how) it all happened so fast... That has been the third fight I have seen since I have been going there :(( ... And one of those fights being my parents GSD got attacked by some irresponsible peoples medium type terrier mix dog that they just rescued and didn't know how it was around dogs...thank godness he wasn't hurt or my parents would have KILLED Me(I took him there one day)..Anyway if it keeps happening I probably won't be going back,to many irresponsible people!!I did go and check out the gahanna park, and it is pretty Big!!, Looks to be nice with a lot of nice people..
It might be a better park to go to for a BIG BASH One day as it is bigger then the westerville one and you aren't all "clumped" together..

Thats awful! I have seen a few minor squirmishes and they usually all involve the same dogs. there is one specific black lab that we steer clear of. His owner usually just goes and sits down on one of the benches and READS!

I keep such a close eye out on Cami and try to watch the dogs she is around to enable myself to see a problem before it starts. I don't like her to get into a group of dogs (more than 2) and she is really good about coming to me to make sure I still have her water bottle. She also watches me to make sure that no other dogs are getting any luvin from mom!

I hope you decide to continue coming, perhaps when the park is not so busy? We would definatly do a bash at the Gahanna park, but just for a visit it is too far away considering the Westerville Park is minutes from home.

The Gahanna Dog Park is a lot closer for us. I would love to meet others there. My sister stopped by yesterday and said it was not as nice as the Westerville because there was no equipment but she said it was big and fenced. Duke didn't go on the equipment at Westerville without me asking so I don't see it being a big deal without it at Gahanna. I think I am pretty much available Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday after 6:00 p.m.

Is there a lake at the Gahanna park? I would love to see how Lola takes to the water. We will defintley have to head up there some time and check it out. And hopefully meet up with you.
