I know this is a common topic, but I haven't found one similar to my issue. Axel, my 4 1/2 month old, has inconsistent poo. His morning and late evening poos are fine, nice and firm. His afternoon and early evening poos are somewhat loose. Not awful, but not great either.

He's currently on Canidae Beef and Ocean Fish with NuPro supplement which he gets in three meals per day. He also gets a few treats, but nothing that is only in the afternoon or that wouldn't effect his late evening poo.

It's not a major issue. He's healthy and happy. But I'm curious if people have ideas on what might be going on.

It s not an uncommon issue for puppies. First make sure you are feeding the right amount of food for his age and weight. Over feeding can cause issues. Also because he is more than likely exercising more at the times he is having the loose stools that can be a factor. It helps thing move along the digestive tract a bit faster and not as much gets absorbed.

Thanks so much for the response. I'm confident it is not overfeeding only because I have worked hard to get him to the right amount. The exercise thing makes complete sense and definitely fits with what has been going on.
