I just wanted to say that I'm getting Riley neutered on 9.9.02, as I to am a firm believer of spaying and neutering. However, if I didn't get Riley neutered would that make me an irresponsible owner?? I honestly don't think so. I give him everything he needs and more to be a happy and healthy pooch. I do agree and acknowledge that unneutered and unspayed animals are at higher risk of cancers and related diseases/illnesses, but it doesn't effect EVERY unneutered or unspayed dog. For example, just because I get Riley neutered which would eliminate the risk of testicular cancer, doesn't mean he would'nt get another form.
Basically, I guess what I'm trying to say is that every animal and every human for that matter is vulnerable to acquire different diseases and illnesses regardless of what actions/operations are performed. I feel that when it's your time to go, it's your time to go.
Riley is my life and I would do anything for him. I just disagree that that if I made the choice of not neutering him that I would be an irresponsible owner. I realize that this is a very touchy subject and I'm not looking for any arguments I'm simply speaking my mind on the subject.
