POLL: How may Boxers do you have?

I have 1 Boxer but also have a mixed breed and a Bichon Frise. It can be a little on the wild side some days, but wouldn't have it any other way.

I started out
with just Chief 9 yrs ago, but I realised that he was needing the company whilst I was at work & it was the best thing I ever did, Molly kept him younger! Then when he went to the bridge we were going to wait a while but changed our minds after two weeks when Molly was fretting so much, so we got Major.... he has helped to pick her up though she does still pine for Chief (she will still go & lay in his spot as if to say I miss you) but two Boxers are for us.. I just love their giving & caring nature, we are looking at having more in our family next year as well so then hopefully we will have 3 I'd have more if i could but cost is a big factor, good luck with convincing you partner.

We have two and love it. We got Abby first (fawn female) and got Baxter (fawn male) almost a year after Abby. I can not explain the difference in her since Baxter came into our lives. It is awesome. They do everything together and hate to be apart. We will always have two. One word of advice is to make sure you can afford two. You never know what will happen. We did not have any major heath problems until this year. Abby is 2 1/2 and had TPLO surgery two weeks ago ($2200). We have been visiting Orthopedic doctors since July. Baxter is 3 and has unrinary problems and is on Urinary SO food for the rest of his life. One large bag of food is $50. (We did try everything else, medications etc.) We will do anything for our babies and thankfully we are able to take care of them and spoil them. But, bottom line for us two is the way to go. (Also, our neighborhood has many families with boxers, those of them that have two would not want it any other way.)

never enough!!
My mom had 3 boxers up until a week and a half ago. We had to put down our oldest- Bridget she was 10.5 and lived a wonderful life. She has 2 boys left Fred- 9 yr brindle and Jeff- 4.10 fawn. However- I have a 4.5 month old black boxer puppy named Lucas and a 7 month old brindle boston terrier/french bulldog named Yoda. We often go to my moms for playdates and if you think it's hard having 3 big dogs try throwing 2 little ones into the mix. Bridget was a mommy all the way to the end! That was all you had to tell her and she was sold on having a puppy around. But 5 dogs is a lot especially since Jeff weighs in at 105 and Yoda is all of 22 lbs. It's a wide variety of ages and weights. I can't wait to see how they will be as Lucas gets older. He acts different every time we go over there. And of course my mom's boys are always more than happy to see them. I don't think we could ever have just one boxer. They need a playmate and are pretty good about teaching the other one how to behave and what to do. Believe me in the hours that we spend at my mom's house my boys pick up all of the "fun" habbits of the older boys and repeat them at home! Good luck.

I have one Boxer and one Cocker Spaniel. With all the other pets, the house and truck payments, I really can't afford another Boxer. Plus, being that my Boxer is a rescue and had huge medical bills this year and the Cocker came from a reputable breeder with no medical problems it makes sense to have one of each breed.

I have just one--my girl Toffee. It works out well for me (and my parents, who watch her a lot of the time). And I think it works out pretty well for her too--she is absolutely doted on, and taken all over the place during errand time.

2 boxers are a bsolute heaven. I never could keep up with Tessa (the engergizer bunny!) but Curly helped me there. 3 boxers and our house became hell. I love them all very dearly but the sibling rivalry (at house) became ugly. Now I rotate all 3 dogs and sleep in 3 different beds every single nite!

Two, I think, is definately better than one. We purchased Jasmine from a breeder when she was 8 wks old. Three days later we rescued Hailey a boxer mix. I would guess that Hailey was about 15+mths. I was very skeptical because we already had 2 older cockers who weren't that great with other dogs. It actually turned out to be the greatest. The boxers played together and slept together. They left the 2 cockers alone which I think they were thankful. When I lost Daphanie last year the DH got another cocker. That has worked out very well too. If Hailey or Jasmine is too tired to play, they can always get Sophie to play with them. Actually, I think sometimes Sophie pesters one of them until they wake up and play with her.
Now that Daphanie is gone, Alex will even play with Hailey sometimes- but only her.
