Boxer Insane
I understand exactly how you feel. I hit and killed a dog (a black lab) when I was 16. I felt horrible. It was about 11 at night and in a curve, o I didn't even see the dog before I hit him. Unfortunately, the next year, I was faced with either hitting yet another dog (a hound mix) or veering off the road into a ditch and trees. There was no way to avoid hitting the poor thing. A few months later, someone hit my beloved black lab, Jake. We didn't find him until the next morning and he died at the vet's office later that day. I've always said that was God's way of paying me back for killing those 2 poor dogs. These things happen, though. We just have to remember that our pets others that have passed are playing together! I know that Jake, Domino, Oscar, Caboose, Caboodles, Buddy, Chloe and Pepper (my pets that have passed since I was a little girl) are playing together somewhere and that makes me very happy.
