Our 5 year old boy Taz was diagnosed with a grade 2 neoplastic tumor less than 2 months ago. The tumor was removed, but within 2 weeks it had started to come back, has grown very fast, and new lumps have developed all the way around his leg. Today he's gone to the vet for another surgery. This time, due to the type and speed of the growth, he'll be losing his leg. We pray that's all he loses. The vet has told us there are no guarantees...the cancer is so high up on his hip we aren't sure they'll be able to get it all even with limb removal. We'd appreciate any and all prayers you could give for him during his surgery today, and for his recovery. Any advise for adjustments at home?

Taz and you will definitely be in our prayers troughout the day. Hope the surgery goes well and they can get it all. As for being without the leg, I once had a small cat, Tiger, who had to have a rear leg amputated after an accident. Tiger did just fine and adapted very quickly- I really don't think she missed the leg. Here's hoping they get every bit of the tumor.

Positive vibes and prayers for Taz and for you.

I am keeping you & Taz in my thoughts & prayers. Sorry to hear he is going through all of this. I hear so many dogs that can get along just fine minus a leg. I don't have any advice but I am sure everything will turn out fine. Give him a hug for me.
