The vet is sending Abby to the orthopedic surgeon Friday. She has hip dysplasia and we thought she was limping b/c of that. Well, my mom had taken her off the thyroid meds b/c she ballooned in weight when she was on them. The vet said that dogs with hypothyroidism tend to blow out their knees and that is what was wrong. When my mom told him what she had done, he said it was probably her weight. She figured he was trying to make her feel better.
