Hello,
So it's been quite a few weeks with my little Winston. Three weeks ago he went in for emergency surgery to remove a ball of string he had eaten from his intestines. After a few bumps in the road recovery wise the first few days, he's been doing great! However, last night he was staying at my parents and around 11 o'clock he went to do his business and a short while after he came in he was COVERED in hives and they seemed to be really bothering him. My mom gave him some benadryl and wiped him down with some witch hazel, and he had an okay night. As of today they're still covering his body. He's had hives before but this is the worst I've ever seen. They are all over his underside (stomach, neck, legs) and I can tell they've been all over his back, but those seem to have gone down a bit. He's had benadryl twice again today (children's formula), and has been fine with eating, drinking, going to the bathroom, etc.
I'm just FREAKING out because of the scariness we went through with him a few weeks ago. Our vet bill from that is INSANE (over $6,000) so I'm trying to avoid a trip this time around if I can.
Anyone have any similar experiences to this? Any thoughts on what course of action I should take?!
Thank you so much for any advice/input--it's greatly appreciated!
