I'd say put up a dog run is about your only choice, if he is going to be left unattended, outdoors alone. Otherwise, you can always turn to the good ol' crate to keep him in line :) Good luck!

It is going to take him more than just two days to settle in.
It may take him a few weeks.

Leaving him outside in a new place is not a good idea, stay with him, hide treats or toys to make him feel more at home.

Be Patient!

If you put up a dog run or get a long leash make sure it does not reach the fence at all or he could try to jump it and strangle himself!!!

Check out coyoteroller.com
They make fence toppers that are rollers to prevent dogs from gaining any grip on the tops of fences.

It's a reasonable $28 for 14 ft. sections, doesn't mar the fence, won't look like a prison, and easy to install. Then when you move, you can remove them and take them with you. I'm sure an explanation to your landlord and you would get approval.

It's a great product! They just recently got a gov contract for installing them at an animal reservation to keep the wolves and coyote's out of the reserve. I've heard these work wonders and dogs stop attempting to even jump or climb fences. PLUS, it keeps other animals from jumping into your fenced area!

Thanks everyone. I have no choice but to leave him in the yard when im not here, i have to work or we would have no home at all! But i will try that last suggestion sounds cost effective and like a good idea :) gives me some hope at least lol
