We are at our wit's end with the vets here in the U.P. of Michigan. We have had Champ back and forth for the same 2-3 problems several times since he was 5 months old. He gets a rash on his lower stomach, little pimples, some with whiteheads, all over his belly. He never bothers it. Sometimes he licks and chews his feet. We have done allergy testing (showed nothing), tried limiting his food, tried laundering everything in Dreft, and tried antibiotics. Champ has D-mange, which we have gotten series of shots done twice, each time with good results for a few weeks and then the spots come back. I wonder if it is his allergy is affecting his ability to get better from the mange. I don't even know what to do anymore. Every time we take him to a vet (been to most of them here) we do the same thing: antibiotics to bring down the rash, and then nothing, and the rash comes back. I feel so bad for my baby!!!
We are moving down to lower Michigan in 4 weeks. I am hoping to find a vet there that can help us. Maybe have something different to try. Is there anyone out there who has had this same type of rash on their furbaby?

I have no words of wisdom, but I did want to say that I wish you well in finding a cure for his rashes very soon! Hang in there!!!

We were at our wits end treating Thumper's allergic dermatitis and diarrhea when we finally made the switch to feeding raw. It made the world of difference, and might be something you may want to consider. Just a thought ~ Cathy

I would look closely at the ingredients of the food....try a grainless menu for a while and see if things improve.

I would question the prescription of continued antibiotcs without a definate diagnosis.
Have you been told that in deed these bumps are an infection? If so I would request a test to determine what the bacteria would respond to verses multiple attempts to hit on the correct medication.
My girl went thru these bouts of small bumps on her belly as well as a pup. Also had D-mange. What shots is your guy getting for d-mange treatment? Allergy testing is really not beneficial until at least age 2.
I can't tell you what to do but when my girl was younger and going thru similar things I found a new vet who had us stop giving ALL meds. We got her on a quality kibble, vitamins, kept her stress free, supported her immune system, made sure she got plenty of exercise and let her fight off all the nastys by herself. Once all of the prescribed drugs were stopped she was a different dog.
I am not telling you to go against the advice of your vet but they are only human and humans make mistakes.
The body is a wonderful thing usually able to right itself on it's own if given some beneficial support to do so.
Good-Luck!

Cosmo had a rash (acne) on his chin that went away after switching to a higher quality food. We use Nature's Prairie Variety. Good luck, hope he feels better soon!

Rashes on a puppies stomach are very common. Roxie gets a similar reaction every once in awhile. My vet gave me Bactoderm (which is a cream to rub on the rash). After one day of use it goes away. Every once in awhile it comes back but I just use a little bit of the cream and it is gone. Maybe you can ask the vet for Bactoderm. Hope this helps. Good luck with everything. I know how frustrating it can be when you can not get something fixed with your little baby.
