the background info: atticus is 8 weeks old. he has been home since saturday. he is a well bred pup, not BYB and there is a one year health guarantee.
the possible problem: i think he may have pinched nostrils. he breathes fine during the day, well, a bit snuffly, but i think that is a boxer trait:o) at night when he is sleeping hard or is all snuggly and gets warm, he starts breathing really hard, sort of labored. you can really see his ribs going, and sometimes he opens his mouth to breath easier. i know about pinched nostrils because shih tzu have the same problem. i looked it up and boxers do have the problem sometimes.
the question: is snuffly heavy breathing common in boxer puppies? and are pinched nostrils a problem with the breed? and has anyone ever had this problem? i wonder if this falls under the health guarantee....?

Fast heavy breathing is a normal part of the puppy sleep cycle, and is common in dogs who get too warm. If they were truly 'pinched' you'd be seeing more issues when he's been running and playing.
