pinch collars

Under my knowledge pinch collars lock so they can't pinch that much on them, and then help you from them pulling on the lead, because it pinchs a bit and they stop. Is this true???

Now when woudl you use this collar?? at what age?

I really have enjoyed all the feedback on pinch collars. It appears most of you feel as I do about the pinch. That is that it is a good tool with a big strong dog. I also confirmed how I feel about it Friday night. My stepdaughter and I walked Rocky 85lbs and Sam 47lbs. Sam spotted a cat, Rocky went nuts. I had him on a pinch collar and still I almost got pulled down. He is not like this with anything else, but when it comes to a cat he is out of control. I did keep him under control but had he been on a choke I do think I would have lost it. I guess trainers will say that is the fault of the one controlling the dog. I don't disagree but I also think when it comes to cats etc.. that there instinct to hunt and catch prey comes into effect.

Thanks, Lisa:rolleyes:
