Hello all,
Our 8mth old boy is becoming more pigeon-toed as he grows. For a while I thought it was going to correct itself but it is showing up again. Has anyone else seen this? Should we worry about later joint problems if we don't have it corrected if possible? I really don't mind but I'm worried it may cause him pain in his shoulders or spine as he ages.

He is quite long and lanky still and very skinny so maybe it's part of his growing process.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

It's hard to say whether that's something to be worried by, or if it's just the way he's constructed.

One thing I would say though, is that if you happen to be feeding him a puppy formula or supplements (especially anything containing calcium), it would be wise to stop that immediately. Those are things that can cause musculoskeletal problems.

Thanks,
We feed RAW and he's had it since 10 weeks. For a while I thought he was growing too fast as he is long and tall and very thin, so I added some premium holistic puppy kibble to make sure he was getting the necessary puppy vitamins and minerals. I don't supplement at all.

Good :) Puppy formula is a common cause of pups growing too fast and having problems - they're frequently overloaded in protein, calcium and overall calories. Better to avoid it with any puppy who even looks as though they may be growing slightly too quickly.
