Hi. I'm glad to hear you had a good time with the puppies last night. I can imagine it must have been a bit of a madhouse with 7 boxers running around.
I understand your concern about the puppy Lisa picked. But I've heard stories of puppies and human babies who when they were born seemed small for their age, or slow in some way, but with some time and love they develop just fine. Many times the runts of the litter, seem to blossom once you get them home and give them some one on one attention. Sometimes the smaller pups or slower pups in the litter end up being bigger and running circles around their littermates as adults. So you never really know. Plus it's a very good sign that he already seems to be catching up. From the picture I saw, he looks so plump and healthy. But just in case, does Lisa offer a health guarantee?
Everything is fine with Jayde. She is having the puppies photographed professionally this Friday and she promised me pictures this weekend. She picked our puppy for us and she sent me a picture that isn't very good of her yesterday. It was just a quick picture that she took from her "cheap digital" (her words) camera yesterday. But at least you can get an idea of what she looks like and I think she is just PERFECT. I hope you don't think I am some sort of kook for saying this, because I'm actually quite normal, but I freaked out yesterday when Jayde sent the picture to me. When I saw her pic I, she looked exactly like I imagined her. Since I hadn't seen any pictures of any of the puppies, I'd say her name in my mind and this picture of a dark brindle puppy with a white chest and feet kept coming to mind. I'm getting chills just talking about it. I know it sounds like I'm full of sh*t but I swear on both my son's lives it's true. I just feel like she is very meant to be. And when I told Jayde that, she said that even before I sent her our puppy wish list (a list of personality characteristics we were looking for) whenever she looked at Marley, she thought of me. Ok, I'm freaking myself out now so I'm going to change the subject.
Anyway, I can't believe that Lisa and Jayde live right down the street from each other. Is Calgary a big city? Do you and Mike live close to them? Have you lived there all your life and do you like it?
I haven't been a Californian all my life. I was actually born in Tiawan (my dad was in the military). When I was about one we moved back to the states to Wisconsin. So I actually consider myself to be a cheesehead. And then when I was about ten, we moved to California and lived in Fresno for about four years and then we moved to Los Angeles. So I've been here the longest of any place, but I really feel like a cheesehead at heart. I'm much more of a cold weather person and I love experiencing the four seasons. It was great fun being a kid in WI. I remember taking my ice skates to school in the winter, and loved watching the trees change color in fall (jumping in the leaves when my dad raked). I was lots of fun. I'm sure it wasn't so fun for my parents who had to drive in the snow and shovel, etc., but my sister and I have lots of fond memories. Not to mention that the people there were great as well.
So when do you actually take Jackson home? When you get some more pictures of him, I'd like to see them. He's a plain boy right? I think you're smart for waiting to pick him up. It is definitely better to be safe than sorry. Until all my pups have their shots, I don't let them go anywhere, I am just paranoid about that. The other day, this young kid was walking a five week old Pit Bull puppy down the street and I stopped him and asked him questions about the pup, but the first thing I thought of was that this poor puppy was being exposed to all kinds potentially harmful things before he's had all his shots. I guess some people aren't as paranoid.
I tried to attach the pic of Marley that Jayde sent me but it sais it's to big! Damn!
