Congratulations on your new baby boy! He is very cute and a BEAUTIFUL color! I noticed you are from Calgary, Alberta. We are from southern California, but we are getting our girl puppy from a breeder in Calgary! So our little girl will be a Canadian. Sometimes I feel a bit insecure that she is so far away and that we are completely trusting the breeder to send us the right puppy for our family, but I'm very excited about her bloodlines, and the breeder and I have exchanged e-mails and talked on the phone quite extensively, so I feel pretty confident. I know I'll be a nervous wreck when she flies to us though. You said you'll be getting your little boy the second week in July and we will be getting Marley the first week in July! When is his birthday? They must have been born around the same time.

Our puppy was born on May 5 but we are asking the breeder to keep him for an extra week because we are going camping with Mike's (my husband) grandmother and grandfather since this is their first summer since grandpa's brother (best friend/fishing buddy) passed away I really think it is important for us to go with them this year to make the transition a little bit easier. So... to make a long story short we are going camping and I don't want to take the pup along since there is a high risk of him getting parvo or something like that. Our breeder is sending one of our puppy's litter mates to another breeder to wait for him to have his ears cropped so she is seeing if we can't send out puppy there too. If not I will stay home from holidays.
Who is the breeder you are going with? I think it might have been you who I read was getting a pup from Emberstouch (sp??). Is that right? Do they have pictures of the pups on their website?
I can see where you would be a little insecure. I would have a hard time getting a pup that way but from what I hear they are great breeders. Good luck to you

Thank you for the quick reply. Marley was born May 18th so your boy and her are two weeks apart. So we will be pretty much going through the puppy trials and tribulations at the same time. Maybe we can stay in touch and help each other get through the baby stages.
Yes, we are getting Marley from Emberstouch Reg'd. So you've heard of them? Unfortunately, they don't have any pictures of the litter up on the website yet. Jayde told me she would e-mail me some pics as soon as she scans some and she's been having problems with her e-mail service lately, so needless to say, I am ANXIOUSLY waiting! The puppies' sire is Codi, in case you've seen the website. Jayde sais they are all dark brindle like him, though our girl will probably be plain and not flashy since she only had two flashy girls.
Are you getting your baby from a well-known breeder there? I'd probably know the name since I've researched just about every breeder in Canada. It must be hard for you to have to wait the extra time to bring your boy home. He looks very healthy and sweet. Do you have a name for him yet?

At the end of April/beginning of May I looked at his website and he must have had about 8-10 litters planned. WOW. Busy dog. The lady we are getting our pup from has a litter that will be born in late July or early August that Codi is sire of. Our breeders name is Malimi. On the Emberstouch website it lists her as Lisa Beaulieu (sp??).
We do have a name picked out. His registered name will be Malimi's Ready for Action but we are going to call him Jackson. For some reason that name has always stuck out with us.

It's so funny that your boy is a "Malimi" baby. When I first found Jayde, she put us on the waiting list for a puppy by Tori (Emberstouch The Temptress) and Joey (Malimi's Imagine That)! Tori was ultrasounded and was expected to have 8 puppies, so we were hoping for a girl. Unfortunately, when the puppies were born, only three survived, and they were all boys (we want a girl so there won't be any problems with our two male dogs). Jayde never went into details about what happened but it was Tori's first litter and I guess it's not uncommon for them to have complications sometimes. We told Jayde we'd just wait for the next litter from Codi. So we almost had a Malimi baby too. I guess Jayde and Lisa must know each other really well.
I LOVE Jackson's name. That is very cute! Marley kept sticking in my head too. Each time I went over names on the lists off the internet, I kept coming back to Marley. Jayde and I haven't talked about a CKC name for her yet, just her call name.
I know what you mean about spoiling Jackson. I have already spent about $300 in supplies for Marley (crate, exercise pen, large bed, toys and chews for days, etc., etc.) mostly off the internet. I am addicted to Dr. Fosters and Smith. They seem to have really good prices for everything and the shipping isn't too bad, plus I don't pay tax. Marley will definitely be a spoiled girl since we will be the only females in the house. She's going to be the surrogate daughter I never had.
Anyway, I'm so glad to be talking to you. Feel free to e-mail me anytime. We can exchange photos of our babies as they grow and share all the funny and frustrating antics they pull as well.
