Ok i hate to post this because i have read so many that are practicly (spelling) the same, but all suggestions given haven't worked with my awnry little man. Our boxer is 5 1/2 months old and 34lbs. when we got him he was already 3 1/2 months old, the previous owners were feeding him pedigree puppy chow and gave us the rest of the bag when we got him, they hadn't taken good care of him up to that point so we pretty much had to start from ground zero. We switched him from pedigree to science diet per vet. he wasn't eating any of the pedigree, maybe 1 cup a day, but when we switched to science diet he ate a little more but still acted just not interested in eating anything. after discovering this site realized how bad both of those foods were, and switched to canidae, also to help a case of localized demodex by giving a high nutrient food. Well...... he will not eat period. we will set his food out and he might take a bite and just walk away like umm.... just food. the vet said he is perfectly healthy. we tried only allowing him to have it for 20 min. but he just doesn't care. i hate doing this cause i feel it will impair his much needed growth if we dont get him eating . I have tried mixing cottage cheese, yogurt , and peanut butter to no avavil. I bougt some bil jac to mix and see if he was interested and he just picked out the bil jac then lost interest in that. I really need a good kibble that he will gobble up and just cant find it. should i try and force him on the canidae or keep switching till i find something he eats right up, i am getting very frusterated, i just want him to be able to grow to full potential and he wont if he doesn't eat. please any suggestions would be very helpfull

Your situation sounds so similar to ours with our puppy. Lexie is almost 5 months and is the same way with her food. When we got her, she would barely pick at the Eukanuba puppy that the breeder was feeding. We switched her over to Canidae All Life Stages and at first she just gobbled it up. Then after a week or so, the same thing. She wouldn't eat it. I tried mixing yogurt and different canned foods but she would eat very little.

I really wanted her to eat Canidae as it is a high quality food that is easy to get here, but I finally decided to try switching her to a different protein thinking she might like the flavor better and so far it has worked. I've switched her to Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish. She loves it. Its been two weeks and her coat is shinier than its ever been.... must be the fish oil?? Anyway, maybe something like this might work for your little guy. Good luck.
