Philly PA Area, Lets do a bash!!

June 21st would be great for us. We both have off work. The picnic/bbq sounds like a great ide. Jenn can cook up a mean hamburg on her habachi. Let us know what time and give us some directions and we will be there in a flash. Can't wait to meet new friends and see old friends.:p

Cool, what do we want to do about the place. Do we want to go to the dog park, or do we want to go somewhere more private, just us boxer people??? I can try to look for some fenced in place. Does anybody have any Ideas.

Instead of the N. Wales Park, what do you think about some place like Evansburg State Park or French Creek State Park? We could get there early enough to avoid most of the crowds and have a BBQ at one of the picnic areas. We're a little bit more limited on what we can do off leash, but there would definately be less other non-Boxers!!!!

It would definately have to be a fenced in area. I know I am not going to enjoy myself if I have to keep her on a leash the whole time nor is she going to enjoy herself!!! And she isn't trained that well to be let off of the leash!! I should say that I don't trust her enough to let her off of the leash. I must say I would love to do somewhere more private with just boxers then the dog park. I think there would be more of an outcome if It was private also. I wouldn't mind the dog park though If it comes down to that!!

I've often wished there were places like dog parks where you could rent space by the hour.......that would be cool!

I used to live near a large sod farm and it was an expansive and awesome spot to let the dog off leash. I wish it was fenced.

When we were at the park a few weeks ago I noticed that there is a grassy area next to the fenced area. If we bring some folding tables and chairs could do you think we set up a picninc there? That way a few can stay inside with the dogs while the others cook/eat and then we switch up :D


I have a table and a few chairs I can bring (and of course the habachi ). If you want maybe we can meet there this weekend to do some research

I am not so sure about that!! I just think It would cause problems with the other dogs. And other People in the park.
My hubby said that He might reconsider having it at our place!! It really would be perfect. Just one problem, the GMIL. It is her yard. And what she says goes. I was going to ask her last night, but she has been really depressed lately and it just wasn't the right time to ask about a boxer bash.
So lets not count on my place. And keep our options open. And still if all else fails, we can do it at the Dog park.
Jennifer, What are you doing Sunday??? I am free if you want to meet up and talk about stuff.
If anyone else would like to go you are more then welcome.
I am watching Buster (Explortainment's dog) I am sure they would both really enjoy a romp at the park. (And I know I would get a good nights sleep sunday at least, ha ha)

North Wales is only adequate for a regular boxer bash, unless you can come up with a better location to have it....there should be no food. It should be somewhere that doesn't have dog park rules and safety issues.

Feel free to organize a picinic event but the location and date for this post is set and is organized strictly as a boxer bash.

A picnic would be fine, That way a good time can be had by all. I do agree that food at the dog park isn't a good Idea. And that A picnic Idea should be made somewhere else. Either, or would be fine with me. We just need to choose. I am all up for a picnic Idea. If we can't have it at my place we just need to choose a new location if thats what the others are into. If everyone is fine with the dog park, that is ok too. Or we can just choose a new location with out the picnic and just a bunch of crazy boxers running around. I just want everyone to agree and have a good time!!

If you noticed I said "If" not a definate and we were looking into alternate locations. We had a Boxer Bash/Picnic a few weeks ago in Sunbury, PA. and a wonderful time was had by all. I just wanted to put the idea out there in case we COULD find a suitable place.

Since Tanya who is more familure with the park says she thinks that would not be a good idea I have no problem with that. I would still like to hold a Bash/Picnic before the end of the summer so I will continue to look for a place. Worse case scenario, we go back to Sunbury where a good time was had by all, skin & fur alike
