our boxer is now 6 mths old, when somebody she knows or another dog she knows comes home or over she will pee. sometimes a little, sometimes more. will this ever go away? as she gets bigger and her bladder gets bigger and more control over it, will it stop?

Hi there,
It is called submissive urination. My Zoey did that. It has to be corrected. When someone comes over, don't pay any attention to her(do not let the person greet her at all) until she is calm. It's hard to do I know...but it does work. Repitition is key.
Good Luck :)

submissive urination?

Jewel used to piddle when my fiance came over or our neighbour. Only those two people got that reaction.

I am glad you posted this because I was just about to post the same thing! The other day I left Zoe in the car for a few minutes while I picked my daughter up from Gymnastics. When I got back to the car she had peed all over the seat. Has never done this before and I thought it really strange until a guy came over and apologized. Said he was talking to her through the window and she started peeing everywhere. Fortunatelt I have leather interior so it was an easy clean up, but I must say this is really embarrassing behavior!
Anyone else have any suggestions on this? I am hoping Zoe will outgrow this. She only does it with certain people. I have read that it cannot be controlled or corrected but that they will outgrow it. Is that true?

I have no suggestions other than to say that I had a female that did it too. Yes, I tried the above suggestion, but unfortunately, everyone else doesn't do the right thing when they come over.

Nolan did that until he was about 8 or 9 months. They do grow out of it. Whenever someone new came over to the house I would introduce them calmly and slowly and not try to get him too excited. This seemed to work most of the time.

I had the same problem with Duke for about two years then all of a sudden it stopped. We had to get him on a leash and take him to greet people outside the house at first (warn the guest he might pee). Slowly but surely it stopped.

Lisa does it all the time and she is 5 years old, so I don´t know if it is just her that did not grow out of it. She still behaves like a puppy so maybe she hasn´t grown up yet ! She pees everytime she gets excited. If anyone welcomes her, anyone in the street that greets her, relatives, friends or strangers that come to the house. She will do it everywhere. Like a few days ago she hurt her hind leg and I was rubbing it, she started peeing. Also if she gets over excited when we arrive home. I have to warn people to mind their feet as she starts kidney beaning and pees on the shoes.

Brutus does this a lot also, it just recently started though. We were at the vets a week ago and he peed either 4 or 5 times. I felt so embarassed. I was hoping they didn't think i wasn't housetraining him. It also happened at training class he peed twice and pooped. the poop, i just think he had to go. But i hope this does stop soon, it's really embarassing. But I think i'm just catching the beginning of it since he's only 15 weeks.
