Peeing to get back at me?

Zander is 6 months and pretty well housebroken. Though he has had some stragely coincidental accidents.

The shower accident:

I usually bring Zan in the batheroom with me while i am showering because i dont completely trust him at 6 months yet. I let him out because ther were other people in the house and i thougth itd be ok t o close the door, this was right after i let him out to pee by the way. Well.. i heard him come up the steps, across the hardwood floor and to the door. He wanted in, leaning against the door and chuffing and snorting and all sorts of sounds. after a few minutes of this i kept telling him no, id be out soon. well i didnt hear anything for a few seconds.. and then i heard him trot by the door without a thought to me.. and down the steps. When i got out of the shower.. he had peed in my doorway of my bedroom. After a week, it happened again yesterday when i was in the shower again. I swear he did it on purpose

During sleeping:

For a few nights here and there this has happened. I went to bed about 11 with Zander and he slept on my bed. I rolled overa nd he assumed i was up and wanted to go downstairs... so i took him out. when i came back up he would go to sleep and wanted to play. I told him no, shut the lights out and went to sleep. A few minutes later he threw up on the floor. This EXACT thing happened 4 or 5 times in 2 weeks always throwing up in the same spot. I SWEAR THIS TIME it has to mean hes doing it on purpose

Is he doing these things because he is angry and wants attention? some thoughts?

Our boxer Logan is 6 months also and I swear he is sneaky also sometimes. Im not sure about the peeing in front of your room, but at night he will wake up sometimes and wnat to just play forever. SOmetimes he would also pee in the bedroom right after we took him out. He wont sit still or anything. At this point we put him in his crate. We had to do it 2 nights ago and he cried and whined like we were the meanest parents ever (which of course were not). After he eventually stopped crying we let him out and back into bed with us. He went right to sleep and was a very good boy. I think he has learned that if he behaves he can sleep with us all night long. Also, he isnt going to want to sit in his crate with pee or puke so he may not do it in there. He is learning fast. Just a little advice. Hope it helps

No, your dog is NOT doing either of these things on purpose to "get back at you". Only humans think that way. They are not manipulitive...one of their best qualities.

Alot of boxers have sensitive stomachs, a small treat or two before bedtime will help alleviate nausea during the night before the morning meal.

As for the peeing.... pups go very often. It seems that perhaps even though you had just taken him out, he had to go yet again and that might have been why he was making a disturbance at the door, (trying to get your attention).

Guinness did the same thing for awhile...not saying he's "manipulative" BUT every time and I mean EVERY time I was on the computer upstairs...he would pee at the foot of the stairs. Didn't matter if he just went outside or not and I was available to take him out, he goes out 2 doors one up and one downstairs... I definitely think he's telling me something...good luck!!

Actually, I think the problem really is that he is a six months old puppy who isn't fully housetrained yet. Puppies actually don't seem to fully understand housetraining until at least that age, and a bit of regression is extremely common - partly because the pup is just entering the adolescent phase, and partly because people start to think they have the housetraining thing sorted, become less vigilent and give the pup a little more freedom/responsibility than it is actually ready for.

In the mornings, if Zander isn't in your sight (or in the bathroom with you) then you should put him back in his crate. He obviously isn't 100% yet on housetraining, and every opportunity he has to make a mistake just slows his housetraining progress. He's nearly there - but you're giving him a little too much rope too soon

As for the throwing up - I've yet to see a dog do that on purpose Had you thought of the possibility that Zander wanted to go out because he wasn't feeling well? If it's any sort of regular occurance, I'd be inclined to think more about his eating habits/food than whether or not he could throw up as some sort of revenge.
