I have just noticed a habit of my 10 week old boxer. Her potty training was going really well, then I noticed that she would tinkle (not pee much) on the carpet right in front of me. This only happens if my skin kids are in the back yard playing. Could she be doing this because she knows that if she uses the bathroom inside that she is immediately put outside to finish her business? If so what can I do to break this habit? Would bell training help? Please help...I'm running out of paper towels and cleaning spray.

I think bell training is great! Works great at my house.

However, you need to go back to Housebreaking 101; take the dog out back on schedule ON LEASH and don't allow it to roam or be distracted. When he does his business be sure to praise like crazy and give the dog a treat RIGHT THERE (don't wait till you get inside).

THEN you can add distractions (still on leash, etc.) like the kids playing in the yard.

Good luck.

I doubt if he's doing it to be able to go outside. He would be more apt to stand at the back door and bark if that's what he wanted.

Our 9 wk old pup is doing the same thing. This morning he was sniffing, so I went to the kitchen, grabbed his leash and called for him to go out. He comes running in, then turns around and runs back into the living room. (Sunlight and mommy, I guess...) There, he squats and pees before I can even go get him. It wasn't a lot, and he certainly could have held it. I guess at this point, there just isn't any REASON for them to hold it. They don't get it yet. (IE: You can't just pee whenever you have the urge)
