OH my Miss Murphy has been peeing in our bed, first time was a couple of weeks ago and again last night.

I have been home with her for the last 4 months but since returned to work in Jan which takes me out of town from Mon till Fri, DH is home with her all week long except during the day. She is 1 year old and spayed and i thought fully house trained until a couple of weeks ago when DH came home from work at lunch time only to discover she had peed in the bed. Yesterday i was home with her most of the day and the dog walker came at lunch time to take her out as usual. So last night at 7 pm DH and I went out for dinner and returned home at 9pm Dog peed outside just before we left. Of course we always ingore her when returning home for the first 10 min as per Jan Fennell's training and then we proceeded to go down in the dinn and i saw her ears go back and i instantly knew she had did something, so i checked around the house and sure enough on the carpet in the bedroon she had peed, anyway to late to discipline so i cleaned it up. DH went to be at 11 and then i heard him calling out that she has pissed on the bed on it had through to the mattress, needless to say i had t get up for work at 5am and no bed to sleep in.

Anyway my question is WHY???? We are following all the bonding theories as per Jan Fennell, ingoring the dog upon return, and leaving, feeding her from the countertop and eating something before giving her food and ALWAYS APPLY Nothing in life for free theory. I do have to mention that we do not crate her while we are gone and she has never chewed a thing, also DH leaves for work at 7 am, dog walker comes in at lunch time and DH returns home at 6pm and never the accident other than the incident on the bed. I am wondering if she is trying to re-establish Alpha with me as where i am gone during the week.

P.S She was at Vet's 2 weeks ago and no UTI

Any advise would be so greatly appreciated as peeing on the bed can not go on. Next option would have to be to crate her, unfortunaelty she becomes very anxious and drools excessively in crate.

Misery loves company...

Welcome to the club... :( I don't know which of my two 6-month old sisters is the culprit, but this has occurred four times in the past month. I let the girls sleep on my bed whenever they please - at night, and during the day.

We do share one thing in common: I just went back to work also - part time November - December, and full-time in January. Still, there are other family members here (but of course, I am the alpha!)

The fourth time I had really had it, and although I am sure it isn't recommended, and I'm ashamed to admit it, but I did rub both of their noses on my moist mattress. They found it unpleasant, and I scolded as I did so. Then, I made them sleep in their crate all night, instead of on my bed. I felt horrible - I wonder who felt worse, them or me...and one of them had to be innocent! But there hasn't been another incident since...Maybe they actually had to be shown that this is not going to be tolerated, that messing Mommy's bed will result in consequences?

Incidentally, when I get home from work, the dogs both greet me at the door. Even though they've had lots of company all day, they act as if they're starved for my attention. I give it immediately, even before I take off my coat. I didn't realize that I should ignore them for ten minutes...??? Why? I love them and hug them and tell them how good they are, and ask them if they missed me, and tell them that I missed them...hug them, pet them, for about 30 seconds to a minute, and then on to my skin kids!!! :D

The dogs only need about a minute of loving, and then they're satisfied, and I can mingle and converse with the rest of the family in peace. I see no problem with that. :)

Anyway, I hope your gal has stopped wetting your bed, and if it's any consolation to you, you are not alone!

Peeing in bed

My son's Boxer did that one too many times and they had to find him a new home where there was someone around for the better part of the day. My Boxer goes to a holistic vet who says that it is a spiteful behaviour. They are mad at you for something, being left alone, etc. We understand that he is doing so much better in the new home with the owner home for most of the day.

i have to disagree with this...i do not believe that dogs pee in the house to be spiteful.
