Pee-yew!! Nucklehead has major gas!

I remember when Fugger could clear a room, but Nucklehead has him beat by a mile! His gas is actually the gagging variety! He is such a snuggler...always wanting to sleep on our laps, but once he lets one go, my LORD! You have to run!

I have him on Chicken Soup for the PLS, and I thought it would be good since it has 5 stars. I would hate to keep switching the food...I guess we will put up with it for now. Unless it gets even worse but I don't see how it could!!

How long has he been on CS? If you just switched him it may take him a little bit of time to adjust. If he has been on it for quite a while (at least a month) I would think about trying something else. There might be something in the ingredients that don't agree with him. It doesn't mean it is a bad food, there just might be something he doesn't tolerate well.

His breeder had him on Purina Puppy chow, and I gradually switched over the week to CS. He is only 7 weeks old. Thanks, I'll give it time to see if it gets any better.

Good luck! Ruben had MAJOR gas on every dog food I tried. Even EVO which is high quality and grain free did the same thing. The only thing that has helped us is feeding raw. The change in the frequency (from all the time to hardly ever) and the smell (from OMG RUN to barely noticable) is AMAZING!

I know a lot of people aren't comfortable w/ raw and it's a big undertaking but it may be the only solution to your problem.

So far we haven't had the gas problem with Roxy. I have been putting a little yogurt on her food because I read on some of the posts that yogurt might help with the gas problem.

Any time I give Minx lamb, she can clear a room! She is on Natural Balance Ultra now and we have no gas problem, well should I say no smelly gas problem. I still hear the pssssst every now and then, but no smell.

I've been having this problem with my girl, I started her on ProZyme enzyme powder you can do a search on it, and it has dropped the issue by about 98%. May be something worth looking into. I've had my puppy on it since he was 7 weeks old with no problems.

I would put some yogurt on mine's food and that seems to help. But, it is indicative of an upset digestive system. So, I have looked around and tried all the major ones. They are on solid gold and that seems to be the best for them.

I do rotate their food every few months. It seems when I do they get a little more gassy for a few days and then it goes away.

He doesn't have gas all the time anymore, and I am trying to pinpoint what is causing it. I don't think it's the food or the vitamin since he gets this every day and doesn't have the gas every day. It's probably some random item that he is eating outside....maybe deer or rabbit droppings?

Luger is an absolute weapon with his gas, tried yogurt but he won't touch it and MAN can he stink! Any more ideas? I've switched foods and give him raw bones but nothing helps!
