Super Boxer
Hi all. Just got back from a week in Florida and we had a ball! Samantha not only loves taking showers but we've discovered her absolute LOVE of the swimming pool!!! We couldn't get her out of the water! Wouldn't go in by herself, only 8 months old, but she was doing Olympic style dives as soon as one of us went in! Does anybody else's baby think they're a fish? First time in, there was a lot of splashing but after that, it was smooth sailing all the way! Just gets cuter by the day!

Thanks for the heads-up! We are taking Cayenne to the beach for the first time this weekend. We haven't opened the pool yet but I will be prepared! :D

Mine hate water. The hardest to give a bath is Rosie , the smallest. The others take it but don't like it. They don't even like their paws wet.

McDuff

Boxer Buddy
McDuff absolutely hates the water. It was raining here fairly hard this morning and I couldn't even push him outside. I kept thinking that he would have an accident and I was watching him closely, but he held it. As soon as the rain stopped, I let him outside and wow...I'm sure he peed the longest pee of his life!!angelicon :D

A Fish out of Water

Diablo is absolutely a duck in Boxer clothing! First bath, couldn't get him out. First time at the ocean, dove into 6-ft. waves and popped up like a cork. First time in a forest preserve, dove headlong into a stream and swam it rather than walk on the grass.

Haven't tried a pool yet, don't know if he'll like the smell of chlorine, but we'll find out this summer. I guess water is a love/hate thing with Boxers.

:p :p Joey loves the water!!!! I take him to the local bark park here. There is a pond that is usually full of retrievers of every sort, Joey decided if they could fetch a ball in the water, so could he, jumped right in and has been swimming ever since.

Bonnie hates the water. There is nothing you can do to make her coroperate. Not even if you give her food. Glad to hear some people don't have to wrestle with their Boxer to take a bath.

Very funny...they either totally hate it, or totally love it. There's no happy medium! Sammi, as I said, LOVES it. SHe kept attacking the chlorinator that was floating in the pool. We had to keep hiding it (under floats, in the center of rings, but she flipped the rings to get to it, even under the ladder at the deep end. That's the only place she didn't dive under (head and all). I also
couldn't figure out out she turned, in place, so quickly. Realized she was stopping one back leg from kicking and just using the other to turn, like a rudder. SHE AMAZES ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

This will be Ozzy's first summer so not too sure yet. He steps in puddles now, doesn't mind the rain, loves his bath and the shower nozzle, has only walked around the pool outside and sat on the diving board, I am going to get him a kiddie pool for the summer, don't want him in our pool because of the chlorine and chemicals. wish we had a lake nearby! its very good exercise for them and for their joints.
