My last visit here is said to be 15th July 2010 at 01:44 PM. It is with a very, very heavy heart and many tears that I have returned here today to say goodbye to Ozzie. He would have been 12 years old on 1/29/2014.
About two weeks ago, he started limping. An x-ray showed an osteocarcinoma. Not a good thing. We had to put him to rest yesterday, 12/8/2013. He was an incredibly-loving dog; a special soul, as one of his veterinarians pointed out to me in a recent e-mail. So "human-esque."
Ozzie was our fourth fawn male Boxer since our first in 1971. We love you so much, Ozzie, and we will miss you so very much. The initial shock of the event is still with us...it's so, so hard at this point to not keep looking for you...expecting you to walk around the corner...to hear you bark...to see that wiggling tail and slurving little body...a tail that was wiggling right up until the end...so incredibly stoic.
One day, my friend, I hope I can hug you once again; my BEST friend.
We love you dearly, Ozzie.
Bob (and Bob for his 92 yr. old mother, Rosemary)
