Our boxer girl Sasha is really not impressed with the christmas tree we brought home today...she has been stalking it and attempting to bite off branches whenever we aren't looking!! It hasn't even been decorated yet so we are just waiting to see what kind of damage she will do once it is all done!!!

Anyone else have boxers who haven't cared for christmas trees?? It is just too funny - and also her first christmas so we knew it would be entertaining...

All I get out of Cini is her nosing the ornaments. When our Christmas is going to be quiet, we have a little tree on the table or atop the freestanding fireplace. (Christmas is summertime here) How about doing what someone a few threads ago suggested. Hang your tree from a hook in the ceiling and have the lights spiralling off the tree and around the ceiling. It'd look pretty cool and boxer babe wouldn't be able to touch it. I got a lot of laughs out of that post and may do it myself in the future because our cat Polly gets under the tree and tangles up in the lights wires.

last christmas sinbad didnt bother the tree, but his first christmas when the tree was up and we were decorating it i am not even sure what exactly he did but he got tangled up in the lights and moved back and pulled the christmas tree over lol maybe that was enough for him to leave it alone..now last year the cat kept climbing up the pole and knocking it over... this year i wonder how sierra will react to it oh well i guess i will be finding out about that pretty soon....

Sasha has just been too sneaky about it! We tell her "leave it" when she attempt to do a "drive by" of the tree and she will actually leave the branches alone. Then, when she thinks we aren't looking she turns around and just chomps on one for good measure.

Last year, being Jasmine's first christmas I believe she took having the tree pretty well. I'd gotten the prelit tree a few years ago so I didn't have to worry about her getting tangled in lights. She is a very curious girl and wants to help in whatever I am doing. Hailey hid the whole time the tree was going up. Jasmine also was an ornament snatcher. I've got these glass woven hearts that she got ate. DH kept stepping on glass and finally figured out that's what it was. Sure enough upon lifting her lips there were pieces of glass resting on her gums. FYI - if a dog eats glass: wet a cottonball and get them to eat it. It grabs the glass on its way through the dog's system so not to cause internal cuts.

This year I believe I am putting the tree in the living room. It is cordoned off with baby gates so no dogs allowed. This is Sophie's first real christmas and I don't think she will do well with a tree. And I definately don't want Jasmine eating anymore glass ornaments. I actually think she thought it was an ice cube, but don't know.

Sirus doesn't so much have an obsession with the tree...it's the orniments. Last year Sirus and I spent Christmas at my parents house...there were a couple of orniments on the tree that had little "mulberries" on them...Sirus loved those things...and the only way we could tell that he got into them was that his lips, tongue, and around his nose were all red. Like a little Kool-Aid mustache!

Every time I would clean him up and get the red out (which took forever to get off of his white fur!)...he'd get back into them! So finally (after I cleaned him 6 times over 2 days!) we decided to take the orniments off!

Tyson and Ali's FIRST christmas

 That is to funny! This is Tyson and Ali's first christmas so we were thinking of getting them their own little tree with plastic ornaments that won't hurt them to see how they do! We will find out this weekend!!

Ping just tried to secretly sabotage our tree last year... he didn't touch it, he was being so good... then we realized he was drinking the tree water when we weren't looking. We kept saying "man this tree drinks a lot of water!" LOL Thankfully we caught it early and he stopped doing it and our tree survived! We are getting ours this weekend, I have a feeling we'll have to remind him that thats not his water bowl!
