So the girlfriend and I got our new flashy fawn pup, Bubba. He is perfect. I only have one concern. I noticed that yesterday he kinda walks on his front left paws tippy toes in a way. I've checked his paw and his whole limb. Ive squeezed a bit to see if he reacted in any way, and nothing. He seems completely fine. The same goes for the rest of his leg, no pain or reaction of any sort. I know that boxers are unproportioned for the most part as puppies, so i might be over thinking it. Also, he has a very small, almost unnoticeable limp on that leg. But it confuses me way too much since he runs a lot and even jumps on the toy poodle at home. Naturally, if you have a limp, don't you want to avoid putting too much pressure and weight on that area of the body? This little guy confuses me lol I will post up pics of him and how he stands in a bit.

Please help!!!!

What are you feeding him? How old is he? Where did he come from?

Several things come to mind. I am not a doctor. These are from personal experience. We had a GSD who grew too fast and had problems with her growth plates. I think she was diagnosed with panosteitis. Not sure on the spelling. There can also be angular limb deformities from growing too fast. You should see your vet for X-rays. Better safe than sorry. I could also be way off. Sometimes feeding puppy food can cause these conditions

We also have a dog that had Ricketts as a puppy because she came from a mill. We rescued her. She was left to die in a rabbit hutch. Malnutrition and no sunlight. She walked bow legged on her toes

All of these are easily treated but do require veterinary care

Keep us up to date. I am curious.

Right now he is 7 weeks old. We got him at 7 weeks becuase our friend had an emergency and had to leave out of state, so everyone picked up their puppies a week ahead of time. He is currently on Purina puppy chow ( thats what he was eating at home ) and yes, I know, very Terrible food. Im waiting a few more weeks so I can start mixing in the Canidea all life stages to ease him into it. We are going to the vet this Saturday to get him his shots and for a routine check-up. Maybe I am over thinking it, because today before I left for work and took him outside to use the bathroom, he was walking fine and not on his tippy toes.

I think it was a false alarm and I was overthinking it too much. He has been walking normally now and not on his tippy toes. Also, there is no more limp. I'm assuming it had to do with his little tumble off the bed on the first night, which i forgot to mention lol, regardless, he is still going to get his routine check-up this saturday:)

Glad to hear all is well, we are all nervous boxer parents at one time or another:). My boy Bandit had a funny way of twisting out one of his front paws when we first brought him home. I was so glad when he finally outgrew it when he was about three months.

Let us know how his checkup goes and post some pics:)
