Alisha, Ruben is a deep stag red and if you look closley you can still see the odd black hairs scattered through his coat. Amy and Bella are not as deep a red but they have the odd few as well. Ruben and Amy are 5 and Bella is 9.5 :)

Thanks Sharon. :)

Guess I shouldn't hold my breath then...sounds like the black hairs might be hanging around for a while!

They're not really noticable I suppose but since I know they're there, they seem to stand out!!smashicon

Here's a photo of my fawn male when he was just a few days old. He had A LOT of black hairs then. Now he has a very smooth fawn coat. When he was younger, you could see a darker area down his spine, now it's all gone. Even the darkness you see by his little white toes is gone.

It was just three of them dumped in a box one February night- two fawns and a reverse brindle.

Asia looks like a Fawn to me :)

Are there any rogue brindle stripes (or even one stripe) on her, that can not be seen in the photos?

She sure does look fawn. I hadn't seen a picture before to be able to tell but she doesn't look brindle unless she's got a stripe somewhere like krikkit said. If she has any black stripes at all she'd be consdiered brindle I beleive but she seems to have grown out of the black hairs she had as a baby as others mentioned can happen. Perhaps you can contact her breeder and discuss the papers with her? I don't know if it's possible to change it since it was the breeders mistake in telling you she was brindle even if she wasn't sure at the time.

yes, i was going to contact the breeder today because i need to turn in her AKC papers before i have to pay a late fee (i have until september but still...).
she had already put the number for 'brindle' in the space provided but i don't want to turn it in saying that she is something that she isn't. i went to www.akc.org and read that i could get a downloadable form off of there so maybe i could do that.
she has basically outgrown all her 'stripes' here and there. she does have a darker line running down her back(bone) but i doubt if that would make her brindle bc it's not THAT dark....
thanks for the help everyone, now i just have to figure out how to change what the breeder wrote on her paper!

OH if you haven't turned in the paperwork yet then I'm pretty sure you guys can fix it. I thought you had already registered her. I don't think it will a major problem most likely. Maybe you can just use white out hehe.

Just a quick note...

You can't download the form you need to register your dog on the AKC website. However you can make changes to the form by scratching things out or marking outside the boxes. It will just take longer for it to process.
