Boxer Booster
Well, a few weeks ago, Oscar ran into a wall inside going 150 miles an hour and gave us a scare that he broke his leg or shoulder. It turned out to be nothing.
Last night, we were not so lucky.
He was doing a burn out in the yard and he tried to circle behind the barbecue grill and the house and he hit - HARD. He gave a horrible scream and began squirming around. My DF (dear fiance) scooped him up quickly and we brought him inside. He NEVER yelps or cries and he did when he tried to put weight on it.
At the emergency vet, they said it looked like it might be his scapula and they wanted to sedate him (NO ACE - I asked!!) and take x-rays. Plus, he was pretty freaked out trying to jump around and they didn't want him to do further damage.
I am going out of my mind!! This is my first night without my baby. He turned 6 months old this weekend and I am frantic that this injury wlil scar him for life. He is still growing (of course) - will this hamper his development? I try to puppy proof his world, but he seems to find new ways to endanger himself.
I love him so much. I bawled like a baby when we had to leave him at the vet. How will they be able to use a cast if it's his shoulder??
I am sorry to go on like this, I am just trying to keep it together b/c I know he'll know if I'm upset when we go to pick him up. They should call any minute. The night shift vet gets off at 8 a.m., and she said she would call before she leaves.
I have been up all night praying, except once I dozed off and dreamed that the vet never called and when I called to check up they said they didn't have my dog and didn't know what I was talking about - how's that for some restful sleep??

...When Bella did this it healed and like the others said it took a while..once in a while when she gets up first thing in the morning she still limps, kinda like arthritis...good luck..keep us posted on the vet visit..
