Ordering food on line

Not having alot of success finding these premium dog foods in stores in my area. I have been trying some of the "store locators" on the websites (Canidae and TimberWolf for instance) and the store that comes up has closed down or is on a street that mapquest can't even find. I was going to try to order the food on line from sights such as "PetFoodDirect.com" but was a little hesitant due to questions about freshness, cleanliness, etc. Was wondering if anyone here orders their food online, what their experience has been, and who they are ordering from.

They're good!

I used to order all the time from PetFoodDirect.com - I only stopped because the neighborhood petshop started stocking Jersey's food for a few bucks less.

It's a great site - their prices are fantastic, there are TONS of money saving coupons (just google "petfooddirect coupons"), and their customer service is friendly. The food that we got for Jersey was always well within the "serve by" date on the bags - they move enough volume that I don't things have time to get stale (unlike a PetSmart, etc).

The only thing I'd say was a drawback was knowing when to order. It can take 5-7 days for the food to arrive sometimes, so you have to know when you're getting low (how long it takes your dog to go through a bag), and leave enough time to re-order so you don't end up short. Once you figure this out, however, you can have them automatically ship you food every X weeks/days/months. Which is a huge time saver.

One last thing, if you have a Citi "Thank You" rewards credit card, you can get something like 5 bonus points per dollar spent there if you register with Thankyoumerchants.com through Thankyounetwork.com - free stuff from dog food!

I order directly from Timberwolf. I have never had any shipping problems and it usually arrives in about 3 days.

I order directly from Timberwolf online and have had no problems yet either. I usually order on Sat. or Sunday and have my bag by end of the week. I ordered from them over the food outlets mentioned because of their free shipping, but as mentioned in another thread that's currently not available, on their website at least. Maybe if you called them direct they'd give you better info.
