Ontario Boxer Bash 2003

Ok It was voted on and both Ottawa and Toronto areas are both very popular. How about both on the last Saturday at the month of June, which is June 28th.

1. Toronto Area: Jack Darling Park June 28 10:00 am


2. Ottawa Area:________________ June 28 10:00 am

I believe that both areas will support a good turn out on the same day. At the end we can all share pictures and all have a great time.

Regarding the Ottawa Area location if any of you have any suggestions, perferablable with not too many other dogs other than boxers. They are a breed like no other.

If any one has any suggestions to make the event better, please lets us know. I don't believe that a picnic so such a hot idea, as I would hope that all of you will be paying close attention to your dogs. Perhaps an all Canadian favorite of "having lunch at Tim Horton's" afterwards would be a good idea.

That sounds like a great idea to me. Seems like it would please both ends of the province! Count me in for the GTA (Jack Darling). Although I don't have a boxer baby I'd love the chance to get to know a few! It's good to see that there are enough people interested to get things moving!

We'll be there for sure. We should get a list of all the people who'll be attending and work out amongst ourselves the details for how to make this smooth. Here's hoping for good weather on the 28th!

If someone from Ottawa as any suggestions for location, I haven't yet visited any of the parks that allow dogs park.

Jack Darling Park is in Mississauga, on Lakeshore Road west of Clarkson.
If you get a map on Mississauga it most likely is marked on there, as it is a fairly large park.

Hi Everyone. There are two official dog parks in the Ottawa area (one in the east end and one in the west end). They're very nice parks but I do find them very busy and I was surprised by some dogs not being socialized very well therefore I bring Max to an unofficial park. It's basically a huge field with a small cedar forest on the edge that is not developed yet (hopefully it will never be developed). About 20-30 people bring their dogs there but the times they come vary throughout the day. The dogs that do show up are all very friendly and so are their owners (if Max and I were away for a bit people will ask were we've been and is MAx ok.) and if we do show up and there's many dogs we can always go to another part of the field. I think it would be a great place for a boxer bash but the nearest Tim's is 15 minutes away. The field is located in Stittsville which is twenty minutes from downtown Ottawa. I think it would be perfect. Denise
