I have two boxers that are three years old - Rock, my brindle male and Molly, my fwn female. After much thought and the necessary health test, my wife and I decided that we wanted to add to our family of boxers. Several members of our family and friends had already inquired about the possible of geting a puppy if we ever decided to bred the two. Well we had up to ten possible homes for a litter of pups. The mating went well and we were pretty sure she was pregnant. Just to make sure everything was going okay, we took her in to our vet that we have used throughout the last three years. She did a x-ray two weeks before the due date. She said she was sorry but there were no puppies present and dismissed here signs of pregnancy as a false pregnancy. Well, we were heart broken but we were not upset. Two weeks later, I came home to find Molly having a discharge and later her water broke. I watched her for most of the night and I knew that she was going through labor. Bright and early the next morning, I caried her to the vet, our vet was out of town so one of her associates tended to our immediate needs. He did another x-ray and confirmed ther was a puppy but was not sure whether it was alive. He kept Molly and observed her for most of the day and at three that afternoon he called and said that he was going to perform a c-section. I drove the forty miles to the vets office and when I got there I had one special surprise. A beautiful brindle little girl. Mother and daught are doing great!!! My question is does this happen very often in the boxer breed or in first time boxer mothers. Of course there are several sad relatives and friends due to the fact that we are going to be the only proud boxer parents from this mating. I would welcome any information about this single birth occurence.

What happened to Maggie? I thought that was your boxer's name. Or do you have three boxers? I'm a little confused:confused: .

Maggie is living in Jonesboro AR. with my daughter. My daughter recently got married and she and her husband moved to Jonesboro AR. Emily and Maggie were very close and when she moved to Jonesboro both her and Maggie were missed each other. So on the next trip home she ask me if Maggie could stay with her. I agreed her they are both very happyi their new home. Her husband also is very boxer friendly!!! We miss her much not as much as Emily enjoys her!
