Oh I'm so sorry for your loss. I hate reading these posts/ I try to stay away from them. I read your poems on your other thread and cried my eyes out. I never want that feeling but I know some day I will have it. It's not fair! Godspeed Delstar

Delstar was with our family only 3 years, but it felt like a lifetime for all of us...Especially myself...Delstar was and always will be very special to me...He was the neighbors dog next door..never treated right, always abused!! Growing up I took care of him when he had no food outside, or his owner was not home for days, or beat him for no reason, it was my mother & I who rescued him!!

I thank God for allowing me to care for him and making the final years good for him!! Delstar was 13 years old, looked lik eit with his greying face, but never acted like it until we came back from vacation on Saturday!!!

I know what I did tonight was the right thing, but gosh it feels like the worse thing ever~~~~~I will cry and miss him dearly but I know that he is waiting for me on the other side with pain no more!!

We love you Delstar!!!

I just read your post and got goosebumps.You see on the same day Nov. 19 2003 we had to put down our golden retriever of 14 years and it was the hardest thing we ever did.We brought her to the vet and when we came back to an empty house well we just lost it we cried (my wife my daughter and myself).She was the sweetest thing,and we loved her so.We will miss her.Now we had to get another dog the silence in the house was defenning.Penny brought life backin our home.She's our new boxer and we are already nuts about her!

Your tribute to Delstar made me think of my Casey who passed over to the Bridge about 7 months ago. Through my tears I am typing this. I can tell how very much you Loved him & I am sure he Loved you very much in return. My heart goes out to you & your family.
