Duke was the same way in advanced class. We refered to him as, the guy in high school who always had the "hall pass". Duke passed advanced with flying colors. Our trainer was great and loved Duke's zest for life.

Congratulations for making the decision to give Edie every chance at a happy life!

The class Winston is in now has a dog that hates other dogs! So they are there working on socialization. It has only been two classes and already he is improving! So I bet you will see all kinds of improvements with Edie in just a couple of classes.

Just remember to relax and have fun and Edie will too!

Hi-

I echo what everyone else is saying - stay with it - and I have one suggestion. Perhaps take Edie for a long walk before class - or perhaps there's a dog park nearby? Maybe burning off some energy beforehand would help. Good luck! We have a rescue too, and are working with her on jumping on people and barking when they walk in our door - even our own kids. So annoying, but it just takes work.

I know what you mean. I am used to being the one who's dog was used as the "good" example. New Scooter and me are used as the "how you don't want your dog to do this" example. I know there is a great dog in their somewhere, I just need to find him.

We had our second night of classes tonight, last week was cancelled. Edie did much better. She has been to daycare there 4 tmes now which has made a tremedous change in her. Although tonight she had to be separated from some of her playmates in class. The instructor suggested that next week she does daycare the day of the class, I thought it would be too much for one day but he said not with her, her mind goes a mile a minute. Well nobody seem to outwardly hate us this week and the instructor actually used her for an example. She did much better this week, even did some of what she learned. The tuna fudge made a big difference, I found that she is a tuna hound.

Just wanted to let you all know that we walked in this week with our heads held high, by the end of the class Edie wasn't the one barking and causing commotion, some of the other dogs were. Here is to week number 3!
