Older female drooling near puppy

Hi everyone,

I brought our new male puppy home last night. We called him Crusoe. We already have a female who is 9.5 year old (Laika) and the introducion went quite well, as long as the puppy does not jump up and playfully nip my older girl! The only real problem so far is that Laika is drooling LIKE CRAZY any time she is around Crusoe. I let her sniff Crusoe as much as she likes to get her used to him but the saliva literally pours from her mouth. Is this normal?

That's what happened when we brought Buster home. Roxy (7 yrs.) did the same thing with him. She loved him, and she drooled all over! I have no idea why they do that, but if your girl is like mine, she will stop after a few days.

Dogs sometimes drool in stressful situations. If that is the case, Laika will get used to the new baby being in her domain and turn off the faucet!
