Oh Yeah Firefly Time!

Lou loves chasing fireflys/lightning bugs around the back yard. It's so funny too because he dashes and leaps all over the place when they light up not being able to focus on just one. He is actually getting good at chomping on them mid air, but they tickle his face and mouth and he makes really funny expressions when it happens.

Lily loves to chase and eat the fireflies too! It's so funny when she catches one and then runs to me, mouth wide open with a lighted up tongue! It's like she wants to show me what happens when she mashes them in her jowls! LOL

Jay loves catching them too, and hes pretty dang good at it too. On multiple occasions he has snatched when they havent even been lit up, and thats in almost total darkness.

Gus loves chasing them. However, he does not seem to be able to catch one. He will be hot on the trail and then get distracted by another flying by. He still has the puppy attention span.

Turbo hasn't discovered them yet, but does the same with butterflies.

Aniah is interested in the fireflies.......but then the bat swoops down to get them and she has decided she would much rather have the bat. I swear she wishes she had wings so she could fly up and get the birds and bats and squirrels. They drive her crazy with wanting .

Since Mojo is still a baby (3.5 months old!) he had his first experience (and I had mine) last week. It was hilarious watching him leap all over the place trying to catch them. Love it! I am SO enjoying my boxer

Oh I miss fireflies! I was born and raised on the east coast and transplanted to CA. There are no fireflies CA - it's very sad. Enjoy them for us!

Sophie has just discovered fireflies. She is SO funny to watch leaping and bounding across the yard to try and catch them. So far, the only one she has managed to catch (I think) was one that actually found its way into our house. :D
