offal question...

i have started feeding part raw...still on chicken..do i feed the offal WITH the chicken,or do i make the offal a meal by it's self? i just have the chicken gizzards right now if that makes a difference.thanks!!



also...when i give them mackeral or sardines,do i mix that with their chicken or kibble...or make them a meal by theirselves?

I would feed the gizzards with the chicken. but if you get kidneys or hearts you could make it a meal. I don't make a meal out of liver since they can get diarrea. so I would just add some liver to there chicken or other offal.

the fish I would feed alone. they will enjoy it so much. I know my guys do. to them fish day is a treat.

i can't find the heart or kidneys????....do they have these at the grocery store?

I hardly find them at the grocery store but sometimes they have it. I usually I find those items at a big meat market or a butcher. I don't belong to a co-op so I mostly get mine close by. you can ask the butcher at your grocery store they might be able to get it for you.

we don't have anything around here!! and then at the grocery stores they mainly just wrap or package the meat,so nothing there...no leftovers or anything.there is a little meat store nearby,but again nothing there either.they mainly just have the steaks like ribeyes and stuff.nothing really that i need for the pooches.
what if i can't find that stuff,what can i use?? the only thing i see at the grocery store is like chicken livers and the gizzards???

if you can find a ethnic store you might be able to find such items. look in the phone book.

I primarily feed my four chicken backs which has some offal attached. I do give them a little liver now and again which I usually mix with their veggies. ~ Cathy

I feed chicken hearts and gizzards as a stand alone meal all the time. Other organs, I wwould feed w/ some bone (with the chicken). As you go farther, you'll sus out what your dog can and can not handle.
