Thanks guys. Austin just left with dh to go to the vet, the ding dong ran right outside and jumped in the car. Bet he doesn't get out, tho. I couldn't go with him, I just couldn't do it. This is the first "major" thing I'm going thru without my Mom, but I know she will be with him thru this.

I just heard from the vet, Austin is out of surgery. He did end up having to take his toe off, which really upsets me. This whole thing upsets me. He can't come home until 6:30 tonite. I hate being here without him. I don't know what to expect when I see him. We won't get the biopsy results for about a week.

Hey,what's a toe when you still have the rest of the dog wiggles,waggles and wet sloppy kisses? He'll probably be groggy tonight and part of tomorrow. The hardest part will be keeping the surgery area clean and dry. Paws till crossed for good news when the test results come back.

Im sorry to hear he had to remove Austins toe. Dont worry he will be back to his normal self soon and his toe missing wont even be an issue. Positive vibes coming your way for a clean biopsy. Keep us posted.

Austin is home. Finally! He's pretty out of it, he ate some chicken I made for him but he's really unhappy about the bandage. The vet feels it is a malignancy of some kind, but won't know until the biopsy comes back next week. Fortunately it wasn't attached to the bone and his bloodwork was perfect. BUT, they took 4 chest x-rays and one of them showed some spots, but they couldn't see them in the other three, so that's a good thing. Now we wait and see. I can't bear to lose him, especially after losing my Mom so suddenly in April. Please keep the prayers coming.

So! So! True! Even though any part of you baby being lost is a shock i'm sure it was a pretty small one, if that helps him get well, then I think you made a very wise choice! Kisses to Austin! Paws crossed this is the last of it. Hope he heals quickly. :)
