Boxer Booster
Maxxiene is 6 months old now and I called the trainer yesterday and we are starting monday on her training. He was recomended by my vet.I am sooo excited.I am going to petsmart tomorrow to get her collor and leash to do it with.He said the one I have isnt long enough. The reason I am training her is she wont listen to me.When she goes out side and starts running off I call her and she looks at me like" STOP whats that?". :lol Has any one has their boxer trained??I think she will do good she is fast to learn.

training

I took my Tess to obedience training when she was about 10 months. She caught on pretty quickly, and is very well behaved most of the time now. She has all the basics down - sit, stay, come, stop, heel, off - but we still have to practice sometimes. In the winter, because it's so cold here, we don't go out for walks much. We both forget what we're supposed to do.

I'm very happy with the results of our training. And I say OUR training, because it's not just your dog learning, it's also for you to learn how to communicate with her.

Now, if I could just get her to stop licking everything in sight........me, the cat, the furniture, the carpet, the TV.......sigh :)

Training?...Couldn't live without it!

Tyson started classes at 8 months, Pru and Sheeba started home training at 6 weeks and basic obedience classes at 3 months. They do catch on very quickly once you find what motivates them most. Mine will do just about anything for a little "baby talk" and a good petting. I'm sure you and Maxxiene will enjoy the training.:)

Makes Her Think!

Trixie started some stuff at home very early, but at 4 1/2 months we started obedience through our local kennel club. It's been so wonderful for her! She LOVES going to "school" and has met quite a few friends there. We've worked on heel, sit, stay, and come so far. It's been wonderful.

It's cute to see her have to THINK about what she's been asked to do, and when she gets a hug and squeeling from her daddy she wants to perform even better.

Now... if I could get her to adhere to the COME command when she's off her leash and we're outside I would love it. She loves to run free and REALLY doesn't want to relinquish her freedom once she's got it. I think that's the one thing I wish I knew a trick for.

All in all... obedience training is a lot... I think Trixie has caught on to it faster than I did! :)
