I just watched, through Netflix Instant Watch, the movie "Dogs Decoded-Nova". It was VERY interesting. It covered new research that is being done with dogs to find out if they really do connect with humans the way we all claim they do. The last segment is about special research that has been only done on boxers. I highly recommend all dog lovers to see this movie.

I caught that by accident on PBS a few weeks ago (I have a four year old, so PBS is on a LOT.) It was absolutely fascinating! I'll second the recommendation, it made a huge difference in how I communicate with Hodie, and even in the way that I view his communication with other people and dogs.

One question, why did the choose boxer to decode the DNA, they didn´t say it so I wonder?

They said that dogs get a lot of the same diseases and illnesses that humans do. So maybe because so many boxers have heart disease they decided to use them.
