Conrad is 11 months old, and completely potty trained, he never has accidents inside, except for the weekend. My children (9 year old girl and 11 year old boy) are in our home weekends only, and almost every weekend for the past couple of months, he poops in their room. I do notunderstand why he is doing this because he does not go inside any other time or any other room in the house. I do not understand if he is doing this because of not being completely potty trained and I am just trained to take thim out, or if it is another reason...
Conrad loves the kids and they give him lots of attention. He goes with me to pick them up on friday and to take them home sundays. Both the kids play with him alot and give him loads of attention and normally if the children are watching tv he is laying on or beside one of them.. I do not think he is jealous of them at all, the only thing he seems to ever get alittle upset about is I will not allow him to be in my room alone with them if they are watching the tv in my room alone, I make them close the door and only allow them to be around him or any dog for that matter supervised (my daughter was bit in the face a few years ago and she gets alittle nervous to be alone with dogs). So he sneaks up the stairs and goes into there room and poops while they are in my room with the door clothes? Could that be why.. any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Peggy

If the kids are behind closed doors watching tv without the dog, close the door to the kids room too. This will eliminate the problem.

No one can say for certain WHY a dog does what he does. There could be many reasons for this behavior. Jealousy. Confusion. He could be covering their scent to protect their room as well. We just don't know. So the behavior is all we really have with which to work.

Good luck.

I did close the door and he did it outside of their door.. I tried gating the stairs at the bottem so he cannot get up, but my gate I used for the kitched when he was a puppy is too short.. I will just have to get a wider one then he cannot get up stairs at all when they are upstairs :)
