boxers do shed

My late and great boxer, Beau, always shed alot, year round, but his hair was so short it probably would not have been noticeable had it not been that his coat was white, and I often tried to wear black. It wasn't noticeable in the house, but very evident on the dark apholstery of the car( where he travelled often) My new baby boy, Lenny, is brindle and I don't see his hairs anywhere yet. Your pup looks definitely mixed, body shape looks wrong, but he is cute, he sort of looks more mastiff.

Henry's latest picture here:

We decided to just let it go. It's not worth it to go after the guy. I'm sure he learned his lesson, though. See, when we went to see Henry for the first time, the breeder had three brindle females from the same litter as Henry. He was really excited about them and made sure we knew right off the bat that they weren't for sale. He was going to keep them for breeding stock. Well, I am sure that by now, he's spent alot of money on shots and vet bills, and has finally come to the realization that he invested alot of money on three brindle mutts.

I get my satisfaction, though. This guy works second shift. About once every couple of weeks, I call the guy when I get to my work at 7:30 in the morning. I always ask if he's got the AKC papers yet, but I'm really just calling to wake him up.

Henry is doing well and now outweighs Maggie by two pounds (62 pounds total) at 8.5 months. We had to put him in his crate one day last week - it was too cold to leave him outside. Somehow, he got ahold of the sleeve of my jacket and tried to pull it inside the crate with him. Crate has since been relocated. Wife Cindy will repair jacket. :p

Maggie tries to ignore him as long as she can when Henry starts pulling on her ears. When he does this to me, it gets my attention right away.

Well how reputable a breeder could he really be if the pup only cost $350? Funny though your pup looks like my last dog Rocket who was a Lab/Pit Bull mix and kahlua. I would think he is a Lab/Boxer cross which I think would be a great mix!

Have to agree he doesnt look all boxer! Did you get to check out mom and dad when you went to buy from the breeder? and check out papers?

Anyways he so cute, gotta love em!

I bought a lab once from what I thought was a reputable breeder even had him tatooed and said the paper would be in the mail, She was lab alright, and the best, loved her anyways. But no paper in the mail, waited, waited, went I went back to check it out they had left town. She was pure lab but no papers etc. I didn't care be its the feeling of being taken that gets you.

what is this about boxers not shedding??? Mine is not a boxer then I have never had to vacuum soo much in my life!!

Barron is definitely a shedder. His short hair is all over my couch and bed!

Henry is a real cutie!:D He has a lot of boxer traits, yet the most important one of all should be the unconditional love and slobbery kisses he lays on you! :p

I, too, had a bad experience with a backyard breeder. I should have trusted my instinct as soon as I met her, yet immediately fell in love with Barron and took him home. Luckily, he turned out to have a wonderful disposition, despite a few health problems, which have been resolved. I reported her to the Department of Agriculture after learning from other boxer owners that they, too, have had similar problems and were shown the same picture of a boxer on her refrigerator, whom she claimed to be that particular boxer's champion grandfather!!! I received Barron's pedigree and it does not list a grandfather with the initials "CH" after it.

Your pup is beautiful even though he is a mix. I 'm not sure he is a pit, mastiff or lab. Check out my avatar. See the picture that looks like your baby, he is an American Staffordshier terrier and is the best dog I've ever had.

you said ONLY $350? I paid $275 for Tomi and he is full boxer..Are they going for much higher prices now adays? Not that I wouldn't pay a high price for another one, but GEEEESH, more than $350 is a lot for a vet student:(

hmm... Trace was $400 from a byb who won't return my phone calls- eventhough I only want to show her how wonderful she's turning out. Mella was $550. I expect to pay more for show/breed quality.

I'd like to add that Henry is a handsome boy. I am disappointed in his breeder, but I am glad that you love him.
